The Fashion and Textile Museum is temporarily closed for refurbishment.

The FTM will re-open soon with the following new facilities:

·   A permanent exhibition featuring key garments by Zandra Rhodes and other world-class designers.  This will change every 6 months.

·   An Academy for Fashion, Textiles and Jewellery Skills.  This will include support for new designers and entrepreneurs in these fields, and support for existing businesses.  Regular workshops will be offered on all aspects of these skills and business areas.  We will also be developing new pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programmes and foundation degrees for people wanting to work in these sectors.

·   A programme of larger exhibitions and shows.

·   A schools support programme focussed on fashion, textiles and jewellery skills.

·   A Fashion Cafe serving high quality refreshments and also providing space for designers and manufacturers to sell exclusive fashion, textiles and jewellery items

·   High quality, flexible exhibition and events space that can be hired for specific events.

·   In the longer-term we intend to offer access to high quality archives for people studying and researching the fashion, textiles and jewellery fields.

The FTM has been purchased by Newham College of Further Education, who are managing these developments.  Zandra Rhodes remains in residence in the Zandra Rhodes Salon and is working directly with the college to achieve these goals.
