Curator Talk: T-SHIRT: CULT – CULTURE – SUBVERSION exhibition

Meet the teams from the Fashion and Textile Museum and The Civic, Barnsley for behind the scenes insights into the making of the exhibition T-Shirt: Cult – Culture – Subversion. Also joining the panel is Susan Barnett, author and curator of the display T: The Typology of the T-Shirt.

In charting the history of this most popular and affordable item of clothing, discover how and why key themes and pieces were chosen and the challenges faced in presenting such a comprehensive collection of T-shirts. Susan Barnett will discuss her portraits of T-Shirts, an ongoing photography project since 2009 and now a book published in 2014.

The event starts at 1pm in the Fashion Studio and lasts for approximately one hour including an opportunity to ask questions. Ticket includes admission to the exhibition and guests are welcome to view this before or after the talk.
