Free* | Anna Sui Highlights Tour

1pm every Wednesday and Friday from 31 May 2017

Join one of the Museum team to take a trip through the highlights of the exhibition The World of Anna Sui.

Anna Sui is one of New York’s most beloved and accomplished designers. Since her first catwalk show in 1991, Sui has become known for creating contemporary original clothing inspired by spectacular amounts of research into vintage fashion and popular culture. She is especially famous for the printed textiles that feature in her collections. From mid-century Detroit to 21st century Japan, Sui’s signature rock-n-roll romanticism reinvents pop culture for every new generation. The exhibition features over 100 looks from the designer’s archive, presenting a roll call of archetypes from Surfers and School Girls to Hippies, Mods and Punks. The exhibition also explores Sui’s artistic journey through her creative process, collections, interiors, and collaborations. This is the first time an American designer has been the focus of a retrospective exhibition in the UK.
