Wednesday 19 April / 11:30am–4pm (Fully Booked)
In this one day introductory workshop the class will start with a talk on shibori dyeing techniques by tutor Michele after which participants will dye their own cotton tote bag which will then be left to bond with the dyes. The afternoon consists of experimenting with silk dyeing using instantaneous and low-tech techniques which can be fixed in a couple of minutes in a microwave. Participants will then reveal their finished cotton bag and silk experiments to the class. This is an introductory workshop ideal for those who want to learn basic techniques that can be used at home.
