Super Sketchbooks

Thursday 6 April / 10:30am or 2:30pm

sarah-campbell_sketchbooks

A fun filled 2-hour workshop designed to inspire and excite a new generation of designers and artists. Led by renowned textile designer and tutor Sarah Campbell, in this two hour session students will create their own sketchbook from scratch using found materials, papers, magazines, fabrics, prints and patterns and any other ingredients they can get their hands on. Using techniques such as collage, sewing, drawing, and colouring students will be able to take their creations home to continue to work on or use as inspiration for school or GCSE projects. Designed for 12-18 year olds, the perfect entertainment for teenagers during the holidays.

A range of materials will be provided but please bring along inspiration and ideas for theme alongside any objects you would like to include in your sketchbook.

Sarah Campbell Designs undertakes a wide range of projects from one-off design creations, unique pieces and commissions for the high street. Her continuing collaboration with West Elm, the US homeware company, gives a worldwide presence, as do her ranges for the US textiles company Michael Miller Fabrics. Nearer home, recent work includes design work for a very special celebration – Habitat’s 50th anniversary – adventures into glass with Michael Ruh and a range of cards with Roger la Borde. Sarah has also designed a tableware collection,’ Viva’, which is available to purchase from the shop at the Fashion and Textile Museum. While working on exciting collaborations Sarah also finds the time to produce her own range of cards, prints, scarves, cushions and one off curiosities. She also writes an entertaining blog, teaches and runs workshops. For more information www.sarahcampbelldesigns.com.
