The Fashion and Textile Museum cordially invites you to celebrate the opening of our new display: Wallace Sewell: 25 Years of British Textile Design.
Famous for their Transport for London moquettes, Wallace Sewell is a woven textile design studio founded in 1992 by textile designers Harriet Wallace-Jones and Emma Sewell. Inspired by the aesthetic and ideology of the Bauhaus period, Wallace Sewell weave innovative fabrics using traditional techniques. Rooted in British design education and UK manufacturing, this display highlights the 25th anniversary of an international textile success story.
The Fashion and Textile Museum is renowned for its fun and colourful parties; enjoy drinks and nibbles in the company of the best in contemporary British textiles and a preview of the brand new display, in the presence Emma Sewell and Harriet Wallace-Jones. Plus, be among the first to view this season’s exhibition Louise Dahl-Wolfe: A Style of Her Own and its accompanying display Harpers Bazaar – The First and Last Word in Fashion. This is a very special opportunity to meet and chat with two fascinating and innovative designers, their colleagues and supporters and to shop the exclusive Wallace Sewell anniversary range. This promises to be a highly enjoyable and engaging evening, and we hope many of you will join us in celebrating 25 years of quintessential design duo, Wallace Sewell.
All proceeds from the evening go towards supporting the Museum, in its work as the only institution in the UK solely dedicated to showcasing developments in contemporary fashion, as well as providing inspiration, support and training for those working in the industry.
