Repeat Patterns with Photoshop

This 3-day intermediate course teaches you how Adobe Photoshop can be used to create decorative repeat patterns, covering a range of simple and complex techniques.

The course covers the following main topics:

  • Create all-over repeats, half-drop or mirrored repeat patterns
  • Accurately positioning motifs and design elements for repeat patterns
  • Reduce colours of a repeat pattern suitable for screen printing
  • Creating design variations and colourways

This course is taught on PCs. Participants are required to have a good basic knowledge of Photoshop and we recommend attending a beginner’s course at the Museum first. This short course is suitable for those in the textiles, fashion or design sector or simply anyone interested in learning repeating techniques and improving their Photoshop skills.

Participants are required to have basic computer skills. Please bring a pen, notebook and USB stick to save your work.
