Saba Jewellery
A playful element is really important to Irish designer Geraldine Murphy of Saba Jewellery. Her whimsical chic designs range from knickers, bras and fishnet tights to dogs, cats, gorillas and elephants. “The intention with my jewellery” says Geraldine “is for the person who wears the piece to feel a strong connection with it, whether it is because it makes them smile, or even laugh, or because it speaks to them in some other way. For me, jewellery should be…UPLIFTING!” Everything is handcrafted in Ireland from sterling silver and gold.
Vanessa Scully - Fine Buttons
Buttons are hardly standard materials for a luxury jeweller however they are employed with such consideration and precision by new jewellery designer Vanessa Scully that they are the prize materials of her success.
An avid collector, Vanessa’s jewellery line is the result of spending hours scouring old warehouses, car boot sales, busy sidewalks and second-hand shops in search of recycled, vintage and antique buttons for her impressive statement pieces, which are inspired by recurring themes in fashion and cinema.
Soutarri
London based mother & daughter team Soutarri together started an artistic journey through adapting and customising their own jewellery collections to better suit their own wardrobes and bold tastes. Designs later grew organically to form today's unique creations.
Soutarri's limited edition pieces are contemporary in design and accent a variety of African lines and patterns traditionally used and incorporated in ethnic adornments. Each piece is contemporised by incorporating a mixture of various natural substances: i.e. Agates, Nuts, Wood, Semi Precious Stones, Shell, Bone, Crystal and Fresh Water Pearls. Other materials include, Glass, Sterling Silver, Copper and Brass.
Quality, style and exclusivity are underlying principles of the Soutarri design philosophy.
Suzie Crisfield
Suzie Crisfield is an emerging talent in the textile design world and is a pioneer of unusual and unique constructed fabrics. Since graduating in 2008 with a first class honours degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design, Suzie has been busy designing high-end products for a variety of different sectors such as commercial fashion, interior design, and bespoke jewellery and accessories. She has also been developing an innovative silicone-based material she created whilst at university.
The material has numerous qualities which lend itself to a multitude of ideas: it is hard-wearing and long-lasting; it can be used for playful and sophisticated designs; it is UV-active; each design is unique; and every design can be turned into a print which can subsequently be used on more conventional fabrics. Suzie’s silicone fabric is incorporated in all of her accessories, including her one- off range of hand- made constructed sterling silver and antique crystal jewellery.
Little Object
Little Object is a range of handmade jewellery, which uses the contrast of precious silver with everyday materials such as coloured thread and cord to create simple, contemporary designs. Because each piece is shaped by hand, they are all slightly irregular and no two are exactly the same: each little object is unique and imbued with its own personality.
Natalie Reed learnt the art of silver-smithing working for an American sculptor and jewellery-maker while living in Madrid, and soon began designing and making her own pieces. Now back in London, she works out of her studio at home in Hackney, and launched Little Object in 2008.
