Repeat Pattern using Illustrator (Intermediate) - Evenings

Wednesday evenings, 9th March - 13th April 2011

6.30pm - 9pm (six sessions)

Aimed at designers with intermediate to advanced Illustrator skills, this course will show you how to design complex repeat patterns using Illustrator software. You will learn how to create and develop patterns using a range of repeat formations. You will learn how Illustrator symbols makes repeat pattern design easy, how to accurately position and align design elements, and how to use filters to enhance designs.

The course is run at the FTM in a brand-new purpose built learning centre equipped with the latest software and facilities, and tuition is in small groups with a focus on your particular learning requirements.

The course includes the following main topics:

  • Creating repeat patterns in illustrator
  • How to accurately position and align design elements
  • Using Illustrator symbols to create drop and brick repeat pattern designs
  • Creating intricate tessellating patterns
