The Museum's programme for schools aims to complement the National Curriculum and to offer teachers a choice of activities and talks which can easily be incorporated into the syllabus. The Museum is also developing a range of resources which can be used by teachers in the classroom.

Visiting the Museum

School groups are defined as a party of 10 or more. An accompanying adult/ course leader comes free for every 10 students.

Key Stages 1-4 (Unsupervised tour) Free
HE and FE, Community and Adult Education groups (Unsupervised) £3 per head
Overseas students £3 per head
Tourist groups £5 per head
Talks £1 per head
Practical Workshops for KS1-4 £4 per head
Practical Workshops for HE and FE £5 per head

To accompany visits, the Museum produces a workbook for primary students which is available free to all schools within the North Southwark Education Action Zone and can also be made available for other schools for a small fee. Please contact the Education Officer, Tim Hunter on 020 7407 8664 for details.


Please call 020 7407 8664 and speak to Tim Hunter for group bookings. Payment is by cheque, credit card or cash and should be made at the Admissions Desk upon arrival. We request that all groups make one payment as it is not possible to process individual group members payments at Admissions. Cheques should be made payable to Fashion and Textile Museum.


The Museum has no café or restaurant but there is a space where packed lunches may be eaten, or a beautiful park nearby.

Photography within the exhibition is not permitted.

Groups are welcome to draw within the gallery space (pencil only).

Holiday Workshops

The Museum will offer holiday workshops over the summer months. Full details will be available soon.
