THE FASHION AND TEXTILE MUSEUM
CHILDREN'S MAGIC MURAL

To date, the Museum has reached over 500 STUDENTS and has served as an introduction to the art of fashion and textile design. This first community project is called The CHILDREN'S MAGIC MURAL.

The project has been made possible by generous financial support from the Pool of London Partnership Small Grants Fund in association with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Capital Radio's 'Help a London Child', St. Olave's Foundation Fund and South Education Business Alliance.

Currently, FTM is involved in a two-year project with WAVERLY SCHOOL based on The Children's Magic Mural. Students have been challenged to produce a FABRIC MURAL, encapsulating the process of working to a brief and developing a project from start to finish. Each student designed and painted a textile based on a SELF-PORTRAIT. An exhibition of the children's work opened OCTOBER 2002.
