Pineapple: In conversation with Debbie Moore

Date: 4 February 2010

6.30pm - 8pm

Following the closure of the only dance studio in Central London, Debbie Moore founded Pineapple dance studios in 1979, in an old pineapple warehouse in Covent Garden with the aim of making dance accessible to everyone.

Soon afterwards, Debbie launched Pineapple's clothing range in response to the increasing demand for fashionable dancewear. Her inspiration came from the dancers in her studios and their unique ways of customizing and accessorizing their clothes to accentuate their fluid physicality, and Debbie is now credited with bringing Lycra to the high street.

A former model with a head for business – she was Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the year in 1984 – you can hear Debbie’s fascinating story as Pineapple celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Cost: £12 (£9 concessions) including a glass of wine.
