Free Easter Holiday fashion courses for 16-18 year olds.

The FTM in conjunction with Newham College has a programme of two-day courses over the Easter period to inspire a new generation of young creatives.

The courses are completely free - and materials and a light lunch will be provided.

Fashion Sketchbook
Monday 29th/Tuesday 30th March

This practical drawing course will develop your creativity and understanding of fashion techniques and media. You will produce a sketchbook of research drawings and studies that will inspire the development of your own fashion design solutions.

Fashion Collection
Wednesday 31st March/Thursday 1st April

Work with professional fashion designers to design a \'capsule collection\' to a given brief. The creative ideas you produce during the first day will be developed using IT software on the second day, to produce a range of fashion designs with different colourways and style variations.

Fashion Studio
Tuesday 6th/Wednesday 7th April

This course will guide you through the creative design process. Working to a given brief, you will produce some visual research and develop a \'mood board\' for design inspiration, and then learn how to use fashion silhouettes to develop your own design solutions.

Fashion Accessory
Wednesday 7th/Thursday 8th April
Held at Newham College

Develop your creativity and sewing skills through this \'deconstruct-reconstruct\' practical workshop course, designing and making a personalised fashion accessory to keep at the end of this course. The course includes the use of materials, hand and machine sewing skills, and embellishing and decorating techniques.

All courses run over two days, 10am - 3.45pm each day. All courses take place at the Fashion and Textile Museum except Fashion Accessory, which takes place at Newham College.

For further information or to book, contact chris.hall@newham.ac.uk or telephone Newham College on 020 8257 4446.
