One of 3 successful finalists will win FTM/Clothes Show London's Young Accessory Designer of the Year

One talented finalist on our Young Accessory Designer of the Year competition will be awarded a fantastic prize to help launch their design career at Clothes Show London on Sunday 27 June, 4.15pm, at the Style Stage.

The finalists have been chosen for their design skills, their interpretation of the design brief and suitability for sale in Shop@FTM:

Jewellery designer Sian Bostwick from Kent, based her entry on her fairytale led fashion design approach taking inspiration from a variety of different sources to design a piece that follows and works with fashion trends but also results in a timeless, elegant and much treasured piece. Sian feels that she would really benefit from winning this competition as it would provide unique possibilities to pursue her dream career as a jewellery designer.

The entry from Imogen Belfield from West Sussex included a ring that captures the strongly defined geometric angles that embody Ricardo Legorreta’s visionary architecture of the FTM. The textured and carved angles captured in the gold plated bronze design radiates light, similar to the bold bright orange colour that adorns the Fashion and Textile Museum.

Elizabeth Hamlyn also from West Sussex is a contemporary knitwear and accessories designer, who also found inspiration for her entry from the bold and colourful building of the Fashion and Textiles Museum.  She entered a design for a brightly coloured, pleated and knitted scarf with the possibility for further design development, creating variations of the design to update and keep customers interest.  Elizabeth entered the competition as she felt she would benefit greatly from the opportunity to launch and showcase her product at the FTM shop and from attending the CAD course and business support.

Clothes Show London is this summer's hottest fashion and beauty event and run from 25th - 27th June.

In addition to Young Accessory Designer of the Year, you can catch FTM on stand 185 and get a sneak preview of our next exhibition, Horrockses Fashions: Off the Peg Style in the 40s and 50s all about one of the most well-respected ready-to-wear labels of the 1940s and 1950s, best know for their full skirted dresses, colourful prints and fancy floral designs.
