Museum Retail and Events Officer

Join our team as Retail and Events Officer to manage the smooth day-to-day running of one of the Museum sector’s most dynamic small shops while developing commercial opportunities to meet an ambitious plan for growth.

We are looking for a highly-motivated retailer who is passionate about fashion and textiles, to join our small but expert Museum team. You will be responsible for managing the Fashion and Textile Museum shop, the online shop, the team of shop volunteers, retail events and hospitality to meet bold sales and profit targets. To be successful in this role, you will need to work flexibly, to have sound commercial judgement and excellent management, negotiating and decision-making skills along with at least two years fashion or design retail experience within a target-led environment .

The Museum, which is owned by Newham College London, oversees the College’s fashion and tailoring courses and offers a programme of changing exhibitions, courses and events. Our mission is to inspire people with a passion for textiles and fashion, especially those working in the industry.
