Join The Secret Drawing Club for a special session of 1960s inspired life drawing. Produce your own drawings of a specially created tableau, influenced by 1960s fashions and the museum’s current exhibition Swinging London: A Lifestyle Revolution.
In this relaxed and fun session participants will be encourage to experiment with drawing mediums and mark making under the tutelage of artist and teacher Nick Hughes. In this two hour session participants will draw from a range of poses varying in length from short quick expressive sketches to longer more considered drawings. Participant will receive guidance on how to capture the form and expression of professional life model Louise Hughes paying close attention to the 60s details in the clothing. Drawing boards, Paper, pencils charcoal and chalk will be provided but participants are welcome to bring along their own materials if they wish. Please be advised that this session takes place in a seated environment at tables in the museum Fashion Studio.
Beginner Level : This workshop is suitable for people with any level of drawing experience from beginner to experienced artist.
The Secret Drawing Club was established in 2015 by husband and wife creative team, Louise and Nick Hughes; Nick is an artist and Fine Art lecturer at The Edge School of Creative Arts, Folkestone on the southeast coast. Louise is an accomplished professional life model of sixteen years experience, having previously worked with the Royal Academy, Victoria and Albert Museum, Windsor Castle and the Tower of London, as well as modelling for a selection of schools, colleges and independent schools in Kent.
