Join the creative force behind Designers Guild, Tricia Guild OBE, alongside the Fashion and Textile Museum’s own Head of Exhibitions, Dennis Nothdruft, to discover the behind-the-scenes story of Out of the Blue: Fifty years of Designers Guild.

Take a walk through Out of the Blue: Fifty Years of Designers Guild with Tricia, hear the creative processes behind producing the exhibition and explore the challenges and inspirations behind the design and installation. Discover how the Fashion and Textile Museum and Designers Guild teams worked together to select pieces from the Designers Guild’s extensive archive and how they undertook the exciting process of displaying them.

Tricia Guild O.B.E is the creative force of Designers Guild and has been at the forefront of interior design since starting the company in the early 70’s. Internationally renowned for her passion for colour, pattern and texture as well as her signature lifestyle brand and books, Tricia Guild has been setting the pace with her dynamic and innovative collections, instantly recognisable for her unique and contemporary style.

Dennis Nothdruft is Head of Exhibitions at the Fashion and Textile Museum. He has led the exhibitions team at the Museum since it was founded by Zandra in 2003 and previously spent many years working as a design assistant in Zandra Rhodes studios in both San Diego and London.

The book, Out of the Blue: Fifty Years of Designers Guild, published to accompany the exhibition, is now available to buy from our online shop at the sale price of £15! Copies signed by Tricia Guild are also available for £35.

This talk will take place on the streaming platform Microsoft Teams Live, details of how to access the talk will be included in your booking confirmation. The tickets sales cut-off for this event is 2 hours before the start time.
