Monday 5 November or Friday 30 November/ 10:30am–4:30pm
In this one-day workshop students will experiment using a heat press by foiling and fusing metallic materials. Towards the end of the workshop printers will have the opportunity to transform a set of notebooks, cards and gift tags using the foiling technique perfect for giving as Christmas gifts. Tutor Nicole Line will guide participants through the equipment and provide demonstrations in how to foil and combine materials.
The morning will be spent undertaking a range of experimental drawing and mark making techniques. Participants will then begin to draw and design ideas taking inspiration from the current exhibition Night and Day: 1930s Fashion and Photographs. In the afternoon participants will experiment with printing their final designs onto a range of note books and papers creating bespoke stationery.
Beginners are welcome and for those who are curious about design processes and mark making this is a great opportunity to be inspired by the 1930s and experiment. All materials will be provided but participants are welcome to bring additional material with them if they wish.
