Join author and sewing expert Chinelo Bally in conversation as she celebrates the publication of her new book Sew Chinelo: How to transform your wardrobe with sustainable style.

Chinelo began sewing ten years ago when she bought her first sewing machine. Shortly after, she shot to fame through competing in BBC’s ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’ – where she finished second – and her professional sewing career took off. As part of this online conversation hear how her own sewing journey started with upcycling existing garments so they would fit her better and how she became known for her signature freehand cutting techniques.

Take this opportunity to delve into Chinelo’s sustainable approach to making clothing, minimising waste, maximising creativity and get inspired. Hear some of her top tips for re-inventing your existing wardrobe, creating stunning garments that are the perfect antidote to fast fashion.

Chinelo Bally is a Nigerian-born Brit who appeared on the BBC’s ‘Great British Sewing Bee’, where she wowed judges with her freehand cutting method and distinctive use of fabrics. Chinelo is the author of Freehand Fashion and is an expert on BBC2’s upcoming show ‘Saved and Remade’.

The talk starts at 6pm and lasts for approximately one hour, followed by a Q&A session at the end.
