In the final week of Chintz: Cotton in Bloom, join our Head of Exhibitions for an exclusive, in-depth look at this extraordinary collection!
At these intimate tours, Dennis Nothdruft will discuss the content, curation and historical context of this much-celebrated exhibition. You’ll discover how chintz was created by the artisans of India, how it conquered hearts throughout Europe and how it has since been cherished and preserved across generations.
As Dennis guides each group of 10 through the 150 examples on display, you’ll receive his personal insight on the history and future of this colourful, floral fabric. With the gallery to yourselves and Dennis on hand to ensure all your questions are answered, this will be a truly unique opportunity explore and support the Fashion and Textile Museum.
Following each 45-minute tour, each group will have the chance to continue discovering Chintz: Cotton in Bloom at their own pace, before heading to our newly improved shop, and finally retiring to The Workroom. Here our team will serve fizz and we hope you will join us in raising a toast to the future of the Fashion and Textile Museum!
