Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 July | 10.45am – 4.30pm | £195
Spend a weekend immersed in colour with expert textile designer Sarah Campbell.
In this two-day colour master class participants will have the opportunity to hear Sarah discuss her design process and the importance of colour in her own work. Sarah Campbell will guide the small group (maximum 10 participants) through understanding colour balance, tonal atmosphere and the drama of contrast. Participants will then be encouraged to create their own colour palettes, harmonies and moods, and spend time mixing and experimenting with gouache to explore and enjoy the power of colour in textile design.
People of all abilities and skill levels are welcome and there’ll be no pressure to produce finished work – it’s a day to enjoy an inspiring time and to learn and practise new skills to take home. All materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own favourite brushes, paints and sketchbooks too.
Sarah Campbell Ltd undertakes a wide range of projects from one-off design creations, unique pieces, paintings and commissions to textile, surface and ceramic design for the high street. Her continuing collaboration with West Elm, the US homewares company, gives a worldwide presence, as do the growing fabric collections with Michael Miller Fabrics. Nearer home, new work includes developing the Sarah Campbell Designs brand into fabrics, wallpapers and ribbons, expanding teaching commitments, and working on new book ideas. Meanwhile she continues to write a diverting blog at https://sarahcampbelldesigns.wordpress.com/
Price: £195 includes materials* equipment and exhibition entry.
*Some paint colours are provided but please bring your own gouache paint if there are particular colours you would like to work with. Please bring a bag to take your work home with you.
