Join authors Gail Rolfe and Anna Cryer in conversation as they explore the power of high heeled shoes and the evolution of lingerie. Here how they delved into British Vogue’s archive of fashion photos to find the most iconic and game changing styles.

In Vogue Essentials: Heels, Gail Rolfe explores the power of heels in its many forms with a hit parade from the pages of British Vogue – from a delicate Dior kitten heel and a low Chanel slingback to a vertiginous Saint Laurent stiletto and an erotic heeled boot from Balenciaga.

In Vogue Essentials: Lingerie Ann Cryer investigates the trends in fashion’s unseen foundations and how images of lingerie in British Vogue reflect the progress of women’s emancipation and the ever-changing fashion silhouette. From silk to lace, bondage to bralettes, La Perla to Agent Provocateur, Anna explores the evolution of lingerie over the 100 years of Vogue’s history.

Vogue Essentials: Heels and Vogue Essentials: Lingerie are the latest books in a major new series from British Vogue and Conran Octopus.
