The Fashion and Textile Museum is offering a unique opportunity to take inspiration from the current exhibition, Thea Porter 70’s Bohemian Chic, in a low tech fabric printing workshop. Led by team R&B, designer Amanda Russell and Juliet Bawden, author of the Art and Craft of Fabric decoration, this workshop will allow you to experiment with different fabric decorating techniques to produce a piece of cloth that you can turn into a cushion cover or a bag. This is a design led workshop using low tech yet effective methods and equipment enabling you to create your own designs at home. Techniques used will be low tech relief printing using found objects, making your own blocks and printing with them and cutting and using stencils.
