Ideal for creating intricate, complex and decorative design elements, Illustrator has a vast range of tools perfect for textile designers. This course will teach you how Illustrator is used in the textiles industry to create effective designs and patterns and the best way to present your ideas.
The course covers the following main topics:
- Create textile motifs using the ‘drawing’, ‘painting’ and ‘reshaping’ tools
- Develop textile patterns, colourways and design variations
- Apply your textile design to garments and interior products

Our short courses are a great value way to learn essential design software. Courses take place in the museum’s IT suite and taught by our team of highly experienced tutors. Tuition is in small groups with a focus on your particular learning requirements. The Fashion and Textile Museum is part of Newham College London.
