An Introduction to Working in Fashion / 18-week course

Develop your interests and abilities towards a career in fashion. This course introduces the range of creative and practical skills involved in fashion design. You will learn about the fashion design process from working to a brief to presenting a finished collection, including the role of drawing, materials and computers in design. Sewing skills, garment construction and other practical and technical skills are also studied.

How the fashion industry operates is investigated, and you will learn about how fashion the industry works to develop markets and sell fashion products, and the career opportunities in fashion.

The course is based at Newham College’s East Ham Campus in modern, well-equipped garment production and pattern cutting workshops, and you will learn in a small group with a high level of teaching and support. Download Course Information
