Geometric Repeat Patterns with Adobe Illustrator
On this new concentrated learning 1-day session, students will discover and get to grips with specialised techniques for creating geometric repeat patterns within Adobe Illustrator.
Taught by one of the Fashion and Textile Museum’s long standing and experienced Adobe Illustrator design tutors, David Wright, the following points will be covered:
- The different techniques used for creating geometric patterns, block and half drop repeats
- Creating ‘grids’ as starting points and structure for geometric designs
- Using the Pattern tool and Effects Transform tools
- Create sophisticated colourways using Recolour tool
This course is taught on PCs, is at intermediate level and requires knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. The content is suitable for people working in the textiles sector, students, tutors or anyone interested in improving their computer design skills and learning techniques in Illustrator
Participants are required to have basic computer skills. Please bring a pen, notebook and USB stick to save your work.
Our computer courses are a great value way to learn essential design software. Courses take place in the museum’s IT suite and taught by our team of highly experienced tutors. Tuition is in small groups with a focus on your particular learning requirements. The Fashion and Textile Museum is part of Newham College London.
