Suitable for ages 14-18, this 3-day course introduces digital design skills for fashion and textiles to young designers. Through the computer software Adobe Photoshop, students will explore digital creative processes and techniques to design fashion and textiles.

Students will learn key digital skills to create a number of different textile and fashion designs.

  • Create textile design elements from scanned images, photos or drawing tools
  • Learn techniques to create placement prints and repeat patterns
  • Develop textile colour-ways and design variations
  • Visualise your ideas and learn ways to present your designs

The course is aimed at secondary students who are keen to study and improve digital design skills. Participants are encouraged to bring sketchbooks, fashion drawings and textile designs which can be scanned in to work on.

This course is taught on PCs and is for beginners or for those that have a basic knowledge of Photoshop. Participants are required to have basic computer skills. Please bring a pen, notebook and USB stick to save your work.

Our short courses are a great value way to learn essential design software. Courses take place in the museum’s IT suite and taught by our team of highly experienced tutors.
