Savile Row bespoke tailoring is renowned throughout the world, and British tailoring is synonymous with style and quality. The FTM and Newham College have worked in close partnership with Savile Row companies for many years to provide training for young tailors, and this unique course will give you an insight into how this highly successful industry works.
Led by a Savile Row Tailor, this intensive course will give you a snapshot of the principles of bespoke tailoring, and the practical and technical skills used in the industry. Including tours of Savile Row the course explores the heritage and traditions of bespoke.
During the course you will produce your own samples of specialist sewing skills and tailoring techniques, develop your understanding of the historical significance of bespoke and how Savile Row has influenced fashion trends, and learn how the industry is evolving to ensure its success for the future.
You will gain an Open College Network (OCN) Eastern Region qualification on successful completion of the course.
