A continuation of Pattern Cutting – Introduction. Led by Julian McDonald’s pattern cutter Nina Jaffres, the course focuses on building upon the skills taught in the beginners sessions. Using womenswear fashion blocks, you will be taught to use dart manipulations to create princess lines and other style components to develop your own skirt and blouse designs.
Demonstrations will use size 10 fashion blocks, but other standard sizes will be available to work with.
Suitability and Requirements:
This workshop is suitable for those who have basic pattern cutting skills and wish to develop and experiment with more complex garment styles. All participants must have basic sewing machine skills.
Equipment: Calico and specialist equipment is provided. You will need to bring metric tape measure, fabric shears, paper shears, fine steel pins, fine pointed tracing wheel, pencils (hb), felt tip pen (or magic).
