Exclusive La Perla boudoir collection pieces at the Fashion and Textile Museum

29 May 2009

The Fashion and Textile Museum will be launching its exciting new exhibition Undercover: the Evolution of Underwear on June 12th and as an additional feature it has teamed up with La Perla to offer lingerie fashionistas the unique opportunity to purchase two exclusive boudoir pieces.

The Undercover exhibition traces the evolution of underwear, from health garment, shape definer to fashion ‘must have’. It explores a number of themes from boudoir to everyday glamour to how research and innovation has changed the way we wear our underwear.

For the Undercover exhibition, La Perla has produced a limited edition boudoir macramé mask (£29) and a delicate leavers lace corset-style cuff £25) to be sold exclusively at the Shop@FTM with all proceeds going to the charity Breast Cancer Care. These items will not be available to buy anywhere else in the UK.

As lingerie aficionados will know, La Perla is a symbol of harmony, preciousness and absolute femininity. The artisan matrix, the know-how of the female body, the fusion of innovation and tradition, the Italian identity, the research of total quality: these are elements that transformed a little corsetry factory, founded by Ada Masotti in 1954 in Bologna, into La Perla - an international market leader in the underwear and swimwear sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity to own a unique and exclusive piece of designer luxury at an affordable price, whilst helping support Breast Cancer Care.
