We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the Fashion and Textile Museum. Our number one priority remains the health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff.
Please note that from 18 May 2021, every visitor aged 16 and over will be asked to check-in via the NHS Test and Trace app, or provide their contact details to a member of our team. This is in line with the most recent government guidance and to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). All data will be held securely for 21 days from the date of your visit and will be shared only with NHS Test and Trace, if requested.
In addition, each of our team members will take twice weekly lateral flow tests. This is to help ensure both their welfare and yours.

Booking Your Exhibition Tickets
All tickets must be pre-booked online before your visit. We are allowing fewer visitors than usual and so have decreased the number of tickets available for each of our daily 1-hour time slots. Please note that in line with ‘the rule of 6’, you must only book exhibition tickets for persons within the same household or support bubble, with a maximum of 6 tickets per booking.
Feeling Unwell
If you or anyone that you have recently been in contact with is displaying symptoms of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) please do not visit the Museum. For more information, please visit the NHS website.
Upon Arrival
Please ensure you arrive within the first 20 minutes of your 1-hour time slot, failure to do so will mean you will not be admitted to the Museum. On arrival, you will be asked to queue outside the Museum in a socially distanced manner. Upon entry to the Museum foyer, please check-in via the NHS Test and Trace app, or provide your contact details to a member of our team. Next, please present your ticket on your device or bring a note of your booking reference – there is no need to print. You will be asked to move directly into the gallery once you have presented your ticket.
Social Distancing
Please follow social distancing guidelines throughout your visit. To make this easier, one-way and queuing systems are in place throughout the Museum.
Face Coverings
Face coverings are required in all public areas of the Museum. For their safety and yours, our team are wearing masks. Please ensure you bring a face covering with you when you visit, unless you are exempt.
Hand Sanitiser Stations
We have introduced hand sanitiser stations throughout the Museum. Please use them as directed throughout your visit.
Increased Cleaning
We have introduced additional cleaning of our galleries and toilets, as well as door handles, handrails, and other key areas.
Toilets
A reduced number of toilets are available via the foyer. An additional accessible toilet is available via The Workroom. Please observe queuing systems as directed.
Accessibility
Lifts and accessible toilets are available, with additional safety measures in place.
The Museum is accessible by level access or by lift. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are located on the ground floor of the Museum, as are baby changing facilities.
We welcome guide, hearing and assistance dogs in all areas of the Museum.

Museum Shop
The Museum Shop is open to a limited number of visitors at any one time. We advise you to sanitise your hands upon entry and avoid touching products you do not intend to purchase.
Cashless Payments
Wherever possible, we are advising visitors to pay using contactless or card payment.
Cloakroom
The cloakroom is closed. Please leave large bags and items at home and keep your belongings with you during your visit.
Food and Drink
There is no café on site. No food or drink is allowed in the Museum, other than bottled water.
Photography
Unless otherwise stated, photography is welcome at the Museum. Please remember to have the flash switched off and if you wish to use a tripod or filming equipment, please get in touch via our contact form prior to your visit.
