Developing partnerships

To support the work FTM does in exhibitions, education and business development the museum is looking for partners seeking to align their businesses with a contemporary museum that is making a significant input into the sector.

FTM is looking for support in a range of areas including:

  • Staging and developing its programme of contemporary exhibitions
  • Developing its award-winning education programme
  • Workshops and talks by well-known designers and industry insiders for the public and those studying fashion
  • Help in promoting its work to the general public through in-store promotions or in customer communications

Our exhibition programme

After redeveloping the building to improve the visitor experience, the FTM has won critical acclaim for its first two exhibitions - Peacocks and Pinstripes, A snapshot of male style, and Little Black Dress. The FTM is building on this success by programming a series of innovative exhibitions over the next three years. Including: Billy: Bill Gibb's moment in time - The first major show in London of Bill Gibb's seminal work from the 1960s to the 1980s, including innovative knitwear, leather and bridal dresses from the well-known Scottish designer.

Swedish Fashion: Exploring a new Identity - An exhibition celebrating the new wave of Swedish design; daring, creative and individualistic. The show represents Sweden in a new light and will include jewellery design from young, talented designer-makers.

Undercover: The evolution of underwear - For centuries women's bodies have been shaped, defined and even controlled by underwear. This exhibition traces the evolution of underwear, exploring the interplay between outerwear and underwear and examining how bra design has been interwoven with social, cultural and economic changes throughout the 20th century and into the 21st.
