Experimental Screen Printing

Copy Your Clothes

Is there a favourite shirt you wished was available in another fabric or a skirt worn so much that it has become threadbare? In this 1-day workshop led by the Museum’s pattern cutting tutor and creative pattern maker Michelle Lewis, learn the skills used by couture fashion houses to copy elements of historical garments without the need to pull them apart.

Experimental Heat Press: Sublimation Printing & Flock

Saturday 25 January 2020 | 10:30am–4:30pm

This one day workshop provides the opportunity to experimenting with sublimation printing using liquid disperse dyes and paper dyes. Printers will begin by using liquid Disperse dyes, which are applied to paper through screen printing, block printing or hand painting onto paper, then transferred onto fabric using a heat press.
